Bracelet Fundraiser

In June 2026, the 6th Class girls created a mini-business. They made bracelets and sold them in a school shop. They donated all money raised to the Sunflower Hospice in Castlebar. They raised a total of €269.20. Mayo Roscommon Hospice recently thanked the school for supporting their fundraiser. We thank who donated so generously. Well done girls!

Girl’s Mini 7s

On the 30th September, 2026, we went to Crossmolina for the Mini 7s. In out first match, we played against a very strong Crossmolina team and in our second game, we played Kilmurry. We lost them both sadly but we had some great performances and we knew almost all their players from playing with MacHale Rovers. The important thing was that we tried our best and had a good day out.

Boy’s Mini 7s

On the 30th September, 2026, the boy’s team played in the Mini 7s Gaelic Football competition in Crossmolina pitch. We played three games. Our first game was against Ardagh. We played well and had lots of chances for goals but we lost. In the second game, we played against a strong Templemary/Mount Palmer team but they were too good for us on the day. We were getting better in every game though. In our final game, we played against Carn and we won by 2 goals. We had a good day out.

Autumnal Art in the Middle Room

Autumnal Colours have filled the Middle Room!

The boys and girls in the Middle Room have been working very hard learning about all things AUTUMN! Most recently they have designed, created and decorated Autumnal Trees using their handprint as a template for the bark of the trees. They used orange, yellow, red and brown paints to fingerpaint the leaves on the trees, with many of the leaves falling down.

Super creative work from all the children. Well done!

The Day that the Sam Maguire Cup came to our School

On Monday, the 14th of September 2026, the Sam Maguire cup visited our school along with Mayo’s All Ireland winning captain Jack Coyne and players Kobe McDonald and Conor Loftus. When they were coming through the gate, we welcomed them by clapping for them and congratulating them. Then 4th, 5th and 6th class sat on the wall outside and the younger rooms stood under us for photographs. After that, we went into the middle room and sang The Green and Red of Mayo. We then took some more photos, class by class. Soon after, they had to leave to get to another school. Anyway, that was the day Sam Maguire visited our school.
